Everyone from the age of 18 is in the Donor Register. So are you. Have you not filled in a choice yourself? Then it says 'no objection to donation' next to your name and you are a donor.

How does organ donation work?

People with a poorly functioning or non-functioning organ can sometimes be helped with an organ transplant. A donor organ is needed for an organ transplant.

How does tissue donation work?

People can be helped with tissues that someone can donate after death. Think, for example, of a skin transplant after burns.

What are the choices in the Donor Register?

Everyone in the Netherlands is in the Donor Register from the age of 18. In it, you indicate whether or not you want to donate organs and tissues. What are the options?
